  • Overview

    The Business Application Consultant will focus on process and application optimization in a number of different areas. The BAC acts as the intermediary between the Business and the Business Technologies department. Together with the Business the BAC defines potential process improvements and determines what enablers (applications) can be used for that. In addition, the BAC utilizes his/her applications knowledge in order to analyze how to help the business by making better use of existing/additional application functionalities.


    • Initiate and stimulate business & application improvements both from a business perspective as well as an application perspective;
    • Develops process and/or application designs and specifications based on business input;
    • Assists on identification and evaluation of packaged software that may satisfy a business requirement;
    • Communicates with development and Services team to ensure technical design and application conforms to specifications and standards;
    • Documents new design as well as updates technical and functional documentation of existing applications as applicable;
    • Ensures efficient and timely support on process & applications and regularly and accurately reports progress and issues
    • Solves issues together with the service team and ensures communication towards the Business
    • Prepares and executes system test plans
    • Prepares application training documents and provides application training where appropriate
    • Performs post-implementation evaluation of projects in order to define improvements to the analysis process


    • College diploma or university degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science and/or Business Administration;
    • At least 3 years work experience in process or application support role in which combining Business & IT was an important aspect;
    • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment preferably with experience in working in an international environment.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, analytical and problem-solving abilities;
    • A strong written and oral communication skill in English, a second language is a plus;
    • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to present ideas in user-friendly language, strong customer service orientation.
