At the moment we are looking for a General Accountant. In this job you ensure general ledgers for STC operations Europe accurately reflect all business transactions. You assist in the reporting of timely and accurate financial information for the STC division in Europe.


  • Completing monthly closing assignments to published closing schedule including, but not limited to, preparing transactions, allocations, and ensuring material transactions reflect proper account classifications and are recorded in proper period.
  • Review and reconcile various general ledger accounts on a timely basis. Ensures the propriety of those accounts. Prepare and maintain General Ledger account schedules, analysing data and taking action on items that should be adjusted, require follow-up, etc.
  • Handle the recording of cash receipts and other transactions for the European bank accounts. This includes receipts from customers as well as other miscellaneous cash transactions.
  • Generate monthly profit & loss reports for the European management. Analyse variances to budgets, forecasts and/or previous period results as needed.
  • Program and run special reports as requested by management for STC Europe region.
  • Prepare reconciliations and other reports as needed for the STC Europe region.
  • Assist in the preparation budgets.
  • Assist Business and Administrative personnel as required.
  • Prepare VAT returns and other necessary statutory filings.
  • Assist with both internal and external audit process as required by providing copies of source documents for cash receipts, invoice backup material and other documentation as requested.
  • Coordinate the annual audit.


  • A four-year degree in accounting or business management is preferred and 3-5 years’ work experience as a general ledger accountant or equivalent. Additional work experience or similar industry experience is required without a four-year degree.
  • Excellent in English and German.  
  • Experience with ORACLE systems and advanced Excel functions.
  • 3+ years of general accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably with an international company.
  • Strong MS Office skills - Word and Excel required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of employees including senior management.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Multi-Lingual is strongly preferred, especially ability to read and interpret German language.
  • Ability to plan, organize and work with minimal supervision.
