The Hazardous Materials Officer is to ensure compliance with Hazardous Materials Regulations and maintain the STC Product Database.
Manages and ensures compliance with hazardous materials Transportation regulations through regulations monitoring and staff training. Log/ investigate and responds to any global inspection and violation reports, responds to and mitigates any penalties.
Performs MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) review, new product entry and maintenance of STC’s product database.
Makes recommendations on product compatibility with ISO tanks based on MSDS characteristics and other internal & external resources.
Maintain hazardous Materials registration and Chemtrec carrier notification databases.
College/University degree. B.S. degree in chemical engineering or chemistry
Hazardous Materials Regulations and Training Certification
Minimum 5 years industry experience in regulatory compliance of hazardous materials transport
Strong working knowledge and interpretation of 49 CFR, IMDG, ADR, PSA
Knowledge of Regscan software for 49 CFR compliance
Good computer skills
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
Fluent verbal and written English language skills
Ability to work in an international, multicultural environment
Organized, able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
Strong technical background and ability to field technical questions
