Overview

Site Buyer “Experienced entrepreneurial buyer who can support in site purchasing and implement tactical procurement processes”

We are currently looking for an experienced buyer to support our purchasing department of the Stolthaven Terminal division.

As a buyer within the Stolthaven Terminal division you are responsible for the daily execution of the operational purchasing processes for our Terminals in Moerdijk (NL) and Dagenham (UK). You participate in the operational and tactical implementation of our procurement processes, supported by our global procurement department at our main office in Rotterdam. Due to the technical and international character of this position, you will work in close cooperation with our global Purchasing, Local Engineering and site management. Your location will be our Rotterdam office periodical travelling to Moerdijk and Dagenham. 
 

Responsibilities

  • You execute the daily operational and initial purchasing requests coming from multiple stakeholders at the local Stolthaven Terminals in Dagenham and Moerdijk in close cooperation with the Procurement department in Rotterdam.
  • Prepare tenders and bid summaries, and negotiate during the buying process as well working on framework agreements.
  • Develop and maintain a professional business relationship with the local stakeholders to support them in the setup and integration of purchasing and logistic processes.
  • Continuously analyse and create proposals for improvement of the organizational purchasing processes.
  • You participate in improvement projects delegated by your Purchasing Manager.
  • Optimise and improve systems and product databases.

Qualifications

  • You hold a Bachelor degree, preferably in a technical study, combined with several years of international procurement experience on operational level, preferably in a petro- chemical, offshore or civil environment.
  • You are a team player with lots of initiatives who can work pro-actively in teams on procurement process improvements.
  • Experience in purchasing on operational level, preferably you hold a Nevi 1 certificate.
  • You’re an excellent communicator with team working skills, with both in-depth analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in both written and oral business English.
  • Contract knowledge with basic legal background is preferred.
  • Willingness to occasional periodically work abroad (UK).
