Energy Conservation Manager

The Energy Conservation Manager is responsible to structure and manage Energy Management Projects from concept to executions and to provide a long term vision and strategy on Energy Conservation plans in coordination with the Fleet and SSHEQ departments.


  • Responsible in developing, coordinating, and implementing the aims and objectives of strategies and policies to reduce energy consumption across the Fleets and monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of these policies and strategies, including coordinating annual progress reports.
  • Identify, analyze and propose energy conservation projects for Stolt managed/owned fleet and related Capital expenditures.
  • Responsible for cost effective management of energy conservation projects.
  • Develop, implement and maintain energy conservation database and monitoring of key performance indicators across the managed/owned ships.
  • Follow developments in energy conservation technologies in the shipping industry.
  • Run energy management meetings, disseminate knowledge and assure contribution across all technical and operational departments.
  • Contribute to the Stolt Best Practices in the energy conservation field.
  • Developing promotional activities and articles to publicize particular schemes.
  • Liaising and negotiating with contractors, the building supplies industry, council services and other relevant organizations.
  • Carrying out site inspections and energy surveys and review other’s ones.
  • Benchmarking energy consumptions against best practice guidelines and industry standards.


  • Degree from a maritime college or university or equivalent or certificate of competency of second engineer or higher.
  • MS Office proficiency – MS Project desirable.
  • Work experience with energy conservation projects both on technical and commercial/financial side for minimum two (2) years.
  • Excellent command of the English language and excellent communication skills.
  • Project management, organization and presenting skills.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
