Stolt-Nielsen Limited (SNL) is a leading global provider of integrated transportation solutions for bulk liquid chemicals, edible oils, acids, and other specialty liquids – operating in over 35 countries through its three largest business divisions: Stolt Tankers, Stolthaven Terminals and Stolt Tank Containers.
To support the SNL Divisions in their strategic goals, our IT function ‘Business Technologies’ is responsible for delivery of stable & scalable systems and solutions - based on best practice processes that improve operational efficiency & data quality. An established IT strategy offers guidance and direction on how IT supports and enables the business in reaching their objectives.
For our Business Technologies Department, we are looking for an Application & Integration Architect to join the Architecture & Engineering team in Rotterdam (fulltime).
During the past few years we have worked hard to outsource commodity IT activities, slowly changing to a to make room for more focus on the quality of Business IT. At the same time, there is a rapid movement and modernization towards SaaS services (HR, CRM, O365), as well as a complete revamp of our collaboration & productivity landscape (O365/O2016). This includes a brand new W10 workplace with the latest additions. We are implementing Identity – and Access Management and are modernizing our application landscape with multi-tiered Application Platforms, Cloud Integration and Mobile integration.
Business Technologies is spread globally, with its governance mostly centralized in Rotterdam. Short communication lines allow for rapid decision making and execution. The Architecture & Engineering department is under the CIO responsible for maintaining coherency and up to date standards across our IT landscape, as well as assisting the business divisions in their preparation and execution of Business/IT projects. We advise on IT strategy matters, and execute cross-division technology initiatives.
As the Stolt-Nielsen Application & Integration architect, you will be based in the Rotterdam office (HQ), the Netherlands.
You are responsible for making technology, optimization & roadmap choices for our Business application and integration landscape. This landscape is a bimodal mix of classic and ‘new’ technologies, and requires direction on application technologies, integration patterns, buy vs. build etc.
You are able to direct and guide the process involving planning, design, review and implementation of new applications and integrations (i.e. from concept to realization). It is your job to further develop Stolt standards based on domain best practices, and guide / support the (usually outsourced) technical staff involved with application technology projects – ensuring that our IT landscape further develops and matures in line with our architecture and vision.
You have a background as senior engineer, and strong experience in supervising development teams. You want to be more concerned with planning, strategy and maturity improvement. You are able to document, visualize and promote ideas and concepts to teams both in-house and offshore; motivating and convincing.
As this position will be located within the multi-disciplinary Architecture & Engineering team, we have a preference for candidates that are able to occasionally combine the architecture work with light project management activities.
